• Philip Morris USA and the Altria Group family of companies

Since March 2004, Philip Morris USA has retained Rhudy & Co. for a wide range of writing and editorial services including speeches, position papers, and communications programs on the company Intranet and Internet sites. The firm serves as a contract video producer for Altria Group and its companies, creating dozens of videos each year in partnership with Fuel Creative. Rhudy & Co. also provides corporate communications consulting to dozens of contacts across the company in the areas of writing and internal communication.

• Ukrop’s Super Markets Inc.

Rhudy & Co. served as the public relations agency for Ukrop’s Super Markets, Inc. from 2005 until its sale in late-2009. For Ukrop’s, Rhudy & Co. developed and executed public relations plans to support the nearly 30-store grocery chain. Projects included new store openings, programs like the Golden Check, and spotlighting specific Ukrop’s initiatives such as natural and organic foods. Rhudy & Co. also assisted Ukrop’s with ongoing media relations and helped the company with overall media relations and public relations planning

• Napier Signature Homes & Napier Signature Renovations 

Napier Signature Homes retained Rhudy & Co. in April 2006 to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan for the custom homebuilder. In 2006, Napier was the proud builder of the Richmond Symphony Designer House, a major community-wide project benefiting the Richmond Symphony Orchestra League. Rhudy & Co. provided marketing and media relations strategy for Napier Signature Homes prior to, during and after the opening of the Symphony House, resulting in significant local, regional and national media coverage. Rhudy & Co. assembled a team and led the development of the builder’s new website and print ads. We also provide ongoing PR and marketing strategy support and recently help the custom home builder launch a new brand – Napier Signature Renovations – to further develop its custom renovation work.

• Luck Stone

Luck Stone works with Rhudy & Co. for internal communications projects. The firm planned and executed the 2010 launch of the company’s Vision 2015 – a strategic business plan for the company and its business units. Rhudy & Co. wrote the communications plan and developed a number of tactical pieces, including an employee brochure and two internal videos to launch the new Vision. Later that year, Rhudy & Co. created an issue of The Cloverleaf – an annual report style newsletter recapping the successes of the prior five-year vision window that culminated in 2010.

• Employee engagement for Bon Secours Richmond Health System

Before 2005, when Bon Secours Richmond began actively building an engaged workforce, most employees would have described their workplace as good. In pursuit of greater employee engagement, Bon Secours Richmond added a multitude of specific tools for its workforce. Explaining an organization’s mission and expectations are the first steps of engagement, but it takes frequent communication to promote a genuine feeling of ownership. Bon Secours Richmond partnered with Rhudy & Co. on many of its engagement communication vehicles — from newsletters to letters to a white paper on engagement — all to make sure employees were kept informed and felt more a part of the mission.Along the way, Bon Secours Richmond has improved its Gallup employee engagement scores from a 3.64 out of a possible 5 its first year in 2005 to a 4.55 out of 5 in 2010, and earned the distinction as a Gallup Great Workplace Award winner, one of just 25 in the world.
