Fun Fact: Jon is a published novelist who has worked as a literary magazine editor and an adjunct composition instructor.

Jon Sealy is a storyteller.

As a southern gentleman, he grew up listening to the outlandish tales of the old-timers in small-town South Carolina. Today he applies the elements of a good story — character, entertainment and heart — to the world of strategic communications.

Jon cut his teeth as a copywriter with the Richmond Times-Dispatch, where for three years he did everything from proofreading advertisements to writing articles and coordinating content for specialty publications.

There, he quickly discovered the key to being a top-notch copywriter — combining the laser focus and deliberate care of a master craftsman with the outgoing enthusiasm of a marketing pro. The secret? Coffee in the morning, hot tea in the afternoon.

While he now specializes in business strategy and communications planning for Rhudy & Co. on our Business Strategy Team, Jon still loves the red-ink world of editing, the persnickety rules of grammar and the nuances of punctuation. He’s always up for a lively discussion about who vs. whom, mantel vs. mantle, British vs. American English, and the singular use of the word “their.”

He holds a bachelor’s in English from the College of Charleston and a master’s in creative writing from Purdue.

He lives in Glen Allen with his family.
